Northeast offers students a number of scholarships and performance grants established by the College, by the Northeast Community College Foundation, and by private organizations and individuals. Qualifications, deadlines and amounts vary. When scholarships are need-based, the FAFSA on file will be used to assist the Scholarship Selection Committee in the selection of recipients.
The Northeast scholarship application process is separate from the federal and state aid process. Most scholarship applications have a deadline of February 1 prior to the start of the academic year. When new scholarships become available during the year, information is place on the web site, in the racks outside the Financial Aid Office and in the ”What’s Happening” student newsletter.
In addition to the multitude of scholarships offered through the Northeast Foundation and outside donors, the following are also available:
Board of Governors
Each year the Northeast Board of Governors offers a half-tuition scholarship to an outstanding senior in each high school within the 20-county area served by Northeast. Limited scholarships are also awarded to selected Adult Basic Education graduates who earn high school diplomas through GED testing and who will attend Northeast.
Department performance grants are awarded in limited numbers through individual departments.
