Course Description: Discussion of responsibilities encountered by the secretary. Special emphasis on administrative secretarial duties, such as work organization, problem solving, communication, execution of secretarial responsibilities. See HawkNET for call number.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Develop the knowledge that will be demanded on the job for the office assistant in a changing work environment.
- Develop the skills that will be demanded on the job for the office assistant in a changing work environment.
- Develop the communication, human relations, and time and stress management skills, which will assist the office assistant in a changing work environment.
Content Information:
The final grade will be comprised of all test scores, discussion board responses, chat line, correctly submitted weekly assignments, midterm test, and the comprehensive final. All assignments must be submitted through the student “Assignment Center” by the assigned due date or they will not be graded. No late assignments will be accepted. All assignments must include the first and last name of the student, Chapter and Exercise number, and the date.

- Determine some characteristics that will help you continue to be successful on the job.
