What are the software and hardware requirements for students using Northeast Online?

The absolute minimum system requirements for using Northeast Online as a student are the following:

PC
Platform: Windows 95 or higher
CPU(Chip):Intel 486 100 MHz (recommend Pentium 3, 600 MHz processor)
Memory: 16 MB of RAM (recommended at least 64 MB of RAM)
Browser: Internet Explorer 4.1 (or later), Netscape 4.0 (or later)
Internet connection: the faster the better

MAC
Platform: OS 8.6 or higher
CPU: Motorola 68040 (Power PC recommended)
Memory: 16 MB of RAM (at least 64 MB of RAM recommended)
Browser: Internet Explorer 4.1 (or later), Netscape 4.0 (or later)
Internet connection: the faster the better

Important: A system with these minimum requirements will be able to access Northeast Online, but courses which include multimedia components and third party software may require higher standards.

Browser settings
Your browser needs to have the Java console enabled, Java logging enabled, JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled and the Check for newer versions set to "Every visit to the page". For a tutorial on browser settings, click here
