What are the library’s hours?

Library hours are as follows: Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Summmer hours are: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

What do I need to do if I want to check out books and other library materials?

Present a photo ID and fill out a library registration form available at the main desk of the library. Once your name has been entered into the library’s circulation system, you may check out books and other library materials.

If the library doesn’t have what I need, how do I get it?

You may make an interlibrary loan request for library materials including books, videos and journal articles. We will then borrow the material from another library if it is available. Charges are $1 per each request.

Can I make photocopies? How much do they cost?

A coin operated photocopy machine is available in the library. Charges are $ .10/page or $. 05 if you purchase a copy card available in the library for $1.00.

Can I get computer print outs? How much do they cost?

A black and white and color printer are available in the library. Charges for print outs are $.05 for b&w and $.25 for color.

Where can I get the books I need for my class?

The library does not have textbooks required for classes offered at NECC. You may purchase your textbooks at the bookstore (phone number 402-844-7140).

Can I use the library if I’m not a student?

The library welcomes all patrons from the 20 county area served by the college. Fill out a patron registration form if you would like to borrow books or other materials from the library.

Where can I get passwords for the databases?

Students, faculty and staff will find passwords by logging into Hawknet with their ID and PIN numbers. Look for the link labeled Database Passwords under Library Resources. Password are only required when accessing databases off campus.

Which newspapers does the library subscribe to?

The library subscribes to newspapers from the 20 county area served by the college.

Where is the popular fiction in the Northeast Library?  Popular fiction books can found on the shelves in the center of the library.

What database has replaced the vertical file?  CQ Researcher publishes reports on social, economic and political issues 44 times a year in print and online.
