MEDICATION AIDE
This course is designed to prepare the student to meet the requirements of the Medication Aide Act and the responsibilities of the medication aide in an assisted living facility and/or nursing facility. This course includes information regarding medication administration, pharmacology, rules and regulations, classification of drugs, orders, storage, abbreviations and an overview of commonly used drugs and documentation. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state administered written exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the student's name will be placed on the medication aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division.

CPR
Instructs participants in emergency measures which may save the life of a person who has suffered a cardiac arrest or obstructed airway. Certificate is valid for 2 years.

BASIC NURSE AIDE
Recognize the aging process and changes which accompany aging; recognize physical/emotional needs of geriatric patients in the clinical setting; display basic knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to geriatric care; identify means to assist residents in obtaining/maintaining optimal functional potential.

FIRST AID
Successful completion of this course will satisfy requirements for OSHA. Licensed Daycare Providers and the public are also encouraged to attend.

ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT
This course encompasses knowledge and techniques which are utilized in the definitive management of a cardiac arrest or similar life-threatening emergency. Participation in this course enables the registrant to review didactic material as well as practice lifesaving techniques and skills under the direction of an instructor in a simulated situation. Completion of this program is based on criteria established by the American Heart Association. Pre-course Requirements: Review of Manual, review of information on student CD, completion of ACLS Pre-course Self-Assessment test. Print test score and bring to class. Bring current BLS CPR card. ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT RENEWAL
The ACLS Renewal Course is open to those who have completed the ACLS Provider course within the last 2 years and hold a current BLS card. Pre-course Requirements: Review of Manual, review of information on student CD, completion of ACLS Pre-course Self-Assessment test. Print test score and bring to class. Bring current BLS CPR card. PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT
Instruction includes recognizing respiratory failure and shock and preventing cardiopulmonary arrest in children and infants. Pre-course Requirements: Review of Manual, review of information on student CD, completion of ACLS Pre-course Self-Assessment test. Print test score and bring to class. Bring current BLS CPR card. PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT RENEWAL

EMT BASIC
The EMT-Basic course is designed to instruct a student to the level of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic formerly the EMT-Ambulance, who serves as a vital link in the chain of the Health Care Team. This includes all skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized service. Students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician exam to obtain a Nebraska Certificate of competency to practice in Nebraska.

TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

EMT - REFRESHER
In cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Health, for Emergency Medical Technicians who have successfully completed the 110-hour EMT A or B course more than 24 months prior to making application for the EMT A or B Certificate of Competency Renewal.

BLS FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER - FULL COURSE
Instructs participants in handling emergency situations, caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, performing CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator on victims of sudden cardiac arrest until advanced medical help is available. This course is designed for healthcare providers. Course follows the American Heart Association guidelines. Certificate is valid for two years.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION & RESPIRATOR FIT TESTING: TRAIN THE TRAINER
Many assume the objective of a fit test is face piece sizing. Although this is a very important element of fit testing, the primary reason to fit test an individual is to verify that he or she has been trained to wear a respirator and has, in fact, learned how to put on the face piece correctly. If a person does not know how to use the equipment, the respirator will be less effective, regardless of whether or not it is the right size. FIRST RESPONDER TO EMT-BASIC BRIDGE
Study and application of the knowledge and skills necessary to upgrade from a First Responder to an EMT-Basic. The curriculum is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation Standards for Emergency Medicine for EMTs. The course will include all skills to qualify for the EMT Basic Certification in the State of Nebraska. Passing the National Registry of Emergency Technicians is required for certification. Student must have current certification as a First Responder.
