The Northeast Community College Viewpoint is an award-winning student newspaper.  It has been the official student newspaper since 1968, when Volume One, Issue One was printed at the school's predecessor institution, Norfolk Junior College.  The Viewpoint is published four times a semester and is a product of the Applied Journalism class, a course which is part of the curriculum for students pursuing a journalism AA degree.  However, it is open as an elective to all students with an interest in journalism.  The paper is advised and managed by an instructor, but is written, edited, and published by student journalists.
