in activities apart from studies to build new relationships,
to foster cooperation and responsibility, and to develop
skills and interests. To get involved or to suggest new

Student Government
Student
Government Association - eleven students who
are elected or appointed to represent the student body on
campus. They serve on all major councils and committees,
assist in the planning and promotion of student activities,
boost student morale, and voice student concerns and opinions

Student Activities Council (SAC) - comprised of representatives
of student clubs and organizations to coordinate and implement

Intramural
Sports -student oriented sporting activities,
which are run by the students. Any person registered for
a class at NECC may participate. Most activities are co-ed.

Center Game Room - located in the upper level
of the Student Center, the game room offers students the opportunity to relax
between classes. There are pool tables, a ping pong table,
foosball, and TV. A computer
lab is also available with student I.D.

Activities Center Weight Room - open to all NECC
students FREE with student I.D. Hours vary during the week
and on Saturdays. Check in with Weight Room supervisor at
Cox Activities Center prior to use.

Some clubs, organizations, and activities
have specific requirements; however, many are open to any
interested full- or part-time student. All college organizations
must have a sponsor.
NECC
Chapter of AAWCC (American Association for Women in
Community Colleges) is an organization that encourages
educational program development for women; supports women
in leadership roles; promotes and offers workshops and presentations;
cultivates fellowship among women; and disseminates information
on courses, programs, and services for professional women.
Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Club - organized
to unite members involved in air conditioning and refrigeration
into a single body, to provide assistance to members on
any air conditioning and refrigeration related subject

Debate
/ Speech(Phi Rho Pi Club)- a national speech honorary
to promote forensics. Students have opportunity to participate
in drama productions at NECC. The forensics squad enters
several tournaments each year, participating in debate,
extemporaneous speaking, oratory, persuasive speaking, and
other events.

Drafting Club (Tau Delta Sigma) - a chapter of
the Nebraska Technical Drafting Society organized to foster
the development of competent, aggressive leadership in the
field of Drafting Technology. To encourage scholarship,
social activities, and the association of students for their
mutual advancement by research and practice. To create a
pride in our school and in our society. To further a higher
standard of industrial ethics and culture and the civic
and industrial welfare of the community.

Drama/Theatre
The Northeast Players is the college’s theatre group. At present, they present a full-length play every spring semester. Productions have included everything from Shakespeare to Inge, from slapstick comedies to murder mysteries. In addition to the performing aspect, students are also introduced to the technical side of theatre, taking charge of crews for set construction, lights, sound, and the like. Livestock Judging Team - competes in intercollegiate
judging contests throughout the year in Nebraska, Colorado,
Kansas, Arizona, Kentucky, and Texas. Also assists with
livestock contests held on campus and host an annual judging
contest for 4-H members in the area.

Rodeo Club - open to students interested
in any rodeo event, organized to stimulate student interest
and activity in rodeo and the community; to strengthen,
improve, and promote the participation of college sports;
and to promote scholastic achievement among all students
interested in rodeo. Qualified students may participate
in NIRA (National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association) sponsored
college rodeos for individual points to qualify for the
College National Finals. Club members travel to several
college rodeos each fall and spring.
