PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
CPS Program®
The Certified Professional Secretary (CPS®) rating is a mark of excellence in the office professional field. The first CPS examination was given in 1951.
Since its inception, more than 59,000 office professionals have achieved their certification.
To attain the CPS® rating, a candidate must meet certain educational and work experience requirements and pass a three-part, one-day examination.
The exam is administered twice each year, in May and
November, by the Institute for Certifying Secretaries at locations throughout
the
advantageous, membership in IAAP® is not required to
become a CPS®. The nearest

CAP Program®
The Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) rating is intended to further enhance the knowledge and skills of today’s administrative professional.
The CAP exam will include the three parts of the CPS exam plus one part on Organizational Planning. Current CPS holders will be required to
only take the fourth part of the CAP exam.
