The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team finished the 2008-2009 season with a record of 115-16.  We made good improvements over the past season and hope to carry that over into 2009-2010 season.  I was happy with the effort and commitment we made to get better.  Getting student athletes to play with great effort is a skill they can use for life.

“We feel we had many good experiences,” Coach Anderson said.  “The players went to Woodland Park Elementary school here in Norfolk and read to students.  They also invited students from that school to basketball practice here on campus.

“Over the years, many Northeast Community College men’s basketball players have gone on to further their educations,” Coach said.  They include Rashad Allison who is at Arkansas State University; DeAndre Jones is Point Luma University; Adam Blaylock is at Peru State College; Oneil Mangal is at Faulkner University; Denykco Bowles is at Southern Illinois University; Jason Snow is at Mercyhurst University; Robert Pogue is at Saint Joseph University.  Also Limar Wilson and Cyrus Tate are playing professionally in Japan and Gijo Bain and Jeffery Henfield are playing professionally in Mexico.
