| 2006-2007 Men's Basketball Season Recap
The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team finished the 2006-07 season with a record of 9-21. Many people would ask, “What happened?” “As the head coach, I wish that we would have won more games,” said Coach Dan Anderson. “But I was happy with the effort of those we brought in to the program.”
He also said he would have liked to have seen better shooting from the three-point line, “But that is something we will fix in the future,” he said. “Over all, we really enjoyed the group we had last year.”
“We feel we had many good experiences,” Coach Anderson said. “The players went to Woodland Park Elementary School here in Norfolk and read to students. They also invited students from that school to basketball practice here on campus. We also had those elementary school students go through drills and work on their reading skills,” he said.
Over the years, many of our Northeast Community College men’s basketball players have gone on to further their educations, Coach said. They include Kevin Armstrong, who is at the University of Nebraska-Omaha; Julous Coleman transferred to Fort Hayes State; Adam Blaylock is at Wayne State College; Cyrus Tate is at the University of Iowa; Gjio Bain is at Southern Mississippi, and Limar Wilson and Jeffrey Henfield are attending Tarleton State University in Texas.
